Audition call Scene & Heard 2018 – Blacklight Productions

Fresh from our hugely successful run of ‘Who will carry the word', 'Blacklight Productions is excited to embark on some totally different project, mixing new writing, physical theatre and irreverence.

We are looking for bold, fearless and eager to rebel actresses and actors, any age, accent, nationality, ethnicity… is that you? Then read the casting call below:

Blacklight Productions will showcase a new play, ‘The Greatest Outdoors’, during S&H 2018. 20-minute performances will take place on 22nd and 23rd Feb at 7.45pm.

What happens when the wealthy depose the destitute to ‘go homeless’? This irreverent farce puts a culture of exposure on trial – from politicians to digital divas. Come look. They want you to!

We are looking for:

-          Kim de la Crème: female, strong physical acting skills. Experience with dance or burlesque a +.

-          Justin Kuddos, prime minister: male, Blackrock college kind of profile (but no Blackrock college experience needed)

-          Johnny Ronanism: male, inner violence

-          Dick my Suck & Duck my Sick: 2 TV journalists, 2 male or 1 male and 1 female.

-          Chorus: 5 actors (male of female) with strong physical acting skills, who will embody various roles throughout the play.

Auditions will be held in the first week of January. During the audition you will be asked to perform a scene from the play and to participate in some physical group improvisation.
