Why so sad? is an exploration of grief. The journey of "getting over it" is a personal one, and for some it can last longer than others. But what if that wasn't allowed? What if the state said you could only grieve for 1 year and after that, you had to get back to normalcy. What if you needed more time? Its been 18 months since the death of his wife and Chris Baker has missed many of his state mandated counselling sessions. Having spent this time grieving in his own way, but neglecting his work, his life, his child and taking support from friends and family for granted, he now faces the charges of not complying with this grieving grace period.

Que Dell'Arte is auditioning for these roles:

CHRIS BAKER (20s/30)
: Widowed father who is on trial for grieving for too long after the death of his wife. Chris is selfish, narcissistic and defensive.

JOAN EDWARDS ( 40s/50s): Judge ruling over the trial. She is stoic, stern and focused.

DAVID O'KEEFE (30s/40): Prosecutor for the state. He is charming, and deceptively focused when questioning the defendant

FIONA QUINN (30s/40): Defence attorney. She is gentle when questioning but stern when interacting with the prosecution.

Auditions will be in Dublin, between 2pm and 4pm this Saturday.

Please email if you are interested.
