Clown Taster Workshop - Presence & Playfulness
7th October, 6.30 - 9.00 pm @ The Lab, Foley Street

This taster workshop will focus the most fundamental elements of clown - presence, truth and playfulness. Participants will guided through a series of exercises that promote authentic presence, connection & fun and will begin to explore how to be fully themselves in the present moment. The work is founded on Lecoq based physical theatre and Native American clowning principles. 

Who is it for: Performers, facilitators & theatre makers who are curious about clown or for anyone interested in exploring presence and connection in a new way. It may be of particular interest for people considering participating in the longer course How to 'be' a clown starting in the new year. 
The workshop is suitable for beginners or those with a little experience who would like to learn more.

Cost: €20

About the facilitator:

Carol is a clown, theatre maker and facilitator with a particular interest in creating truthful theatre inspired by life. She is a graduate of the London International School of Performing Arts, LISPA – a physical theatre school based on the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq. She has also trained in drama facilitation with Artstrain (NAYD) and has completed the intensive Clown through Mask course with Sue Morrison. She is founder of The Clown Coop, a group for artists dedicated to creating new and engaging clown theatre. As a facilitator her previous employers include the VEC, Smashing Times Theatre Company, NAYD and various schools, youth theatres and youth & adult community groups. 

Carol is currently one of the recipients of the Incubation Space Award at the Lab and is using this time to develop a new clown show.
