The Bird Trap (2004)

‘The Bird Trap’ by Darren Donohue (Riverbank / Project Cube; Sept. ESB Dublin Fringe Festival) (WP)

The play is an absurdist comedy set in a shady office on the day new employee, Max, first commences work. Events, already a strange place to begin with, take a turn for the sinister as Max struggles to comprehend the dark business of the company. And unexpected sacrifices have been made to keep him there. The play explores the connections between citizenship and industry, questioning the domestication of humanity at the expense of our imagination.

‘The Bird Trap’ was directed by Peter Hussey, and featured Nick Devlin, Joseph O’ Malley, Paul Winters, Neil Connolly, Gillian Bradury, Mary Duffin & Jamie O’ Keefe.
