Crooked House Hosts 4th Digital Drama Workshops Meeting

Charlie Farrell

Digital Drama Workshops is a multi-annual Crooked House lead, Erasmus+ funded Key Action 2 project about creating free drama resources online, accessible to all. In September of 2022 we hosted the fourth meeting of this project.

In late Septemeber, Crooked House hosted the fourth Digital Drama Workshops project meeting in our Liffey Studio in Newbridge. An Erasmus+ Key Action 2 funded project, Digital Drama workshops is Crooked House led, and aims to offer theatre makers skills and materials to conduct their work online during times when they cannot meet (and so avoid closure, loss of earnings, and loss of creative interaction for young people).

Featuring the participation of BeyondBuhne of Austria, Pirineus Creatius of Spain and Rogaland Theatre of Norway, the Digital Drama Workshop will offer 40 online workshops, as well as 10 videos and a book, all free of charge. This resource network is designed to help theatres to work and adapt during unpredictable times.

Starting in 2021, the project is nearing the completion stage and this meeting, involving in-person participation from all the partners, was about reviewing and finalising all the material that has already been produced. Over the three day weekend for the meeting, all the partners got to reconnect and and further the progress of the DDW project.

The next meeting for the Digital Drama Workshops project will take place next February in Baden, Austria in the form of a public multiplier event.
